Head to other websites via Mouse-over Control

Let me set this record straight, this method is not advisable when you are doing link exchange. As people don't like it when users just need to mouse over to your link and it will head to your website. I can guarantee at least 80% of my readers will have no idea what has happened and why your website just redirects to the other website. It is because they have used a onMouseOver event handler. When you mouse over a link, it will immediately bring you to their destination website.


They are called Event handlers because they start an event when you do something, and this case it is onMouseOver. An example on how people direct people when they mouse over the links. Here will be how the html code look like:

<a href=" http://xxrazexblog.blogspot.com/ " onMouseOver="window.status='Click here to go to XxRazex Blog'; return true">XxRazex Blog</a>

For some reasons we cannot display it on our blog, probably it doesn't support JavaScript code. Surprised that this is a JavaScript code? Well you shouldn't be, the event handlers are part of JavaScript and the rest needless to say, HTML code a.k.a (Hypertext Markup Language). However, I think there is also another way around this restriction.


Also as said before, do not try this when you are trying to do a link exchange, it will only make people get annoyed with you.

Hello, this is XxRazex and this is by 150th post! So this time I will be sharing with you one very simple tweak that you can do to your blog to increase or improve your Google Page Rank or improve visibility of your blog.


Did you know having a good title tag is a must? Search engine robots place more importance in the title tag much more than your header, content, whatsoever. But blogs by Google aren't really tuned to good SEO. So that means we will have to make certain modifications to it. The first one I am going to post about is making your title tag display your post header name and your blogs name in this format:


Your Post Name | Blog name OR
Your Post Name ~ Blog Name

This will improve your search results on Google as they can identify your post much easier. Also people searching for them will get a higher chance of finding your post.


Here's how you do it, it might require you to go into HTML, but trust me, the results will be worth it.
As usual, it is recommended that you backup your template first before making any changes if you have absolutely no knowledge of HTML to troubleshoot any problem.

Step 1:

In your Blogger dashboard, go to “Layout” => “Edit HTML”.

Step 2:

In the template code,  search for this: <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>. It is usually in the top few codes of your template

Step 3:

Replace that bit of code with the following code:

<title><data:blog.title/></title>

Backup your blog ! (Including comments and widget)

Backup your blog entirely. Normally people would do this when they want to move their blog to another blog hosting software. Eg: WordPress, Movable Type, Typepad etc..

One thing to take note:

This option probably will be able to save your widgets. Although it is not recommended as some of the widgets might get corrupted in the process. Unless you are planning to use the same URL (Which I doubt it..) it is not wise to do so. So you have two choices:

• Copy widget HTML and paste them to a text editor (Tutorial posted soon) OR
• Re-installing them to your blogging software (Recommended if you are migrating to another blog host)

Now that we are done, let's get started!

First of , Go to Settings => Others, find blog tools and click on export blog, then this window will pop up.

Now click Download Blog and all of your comments and post will be saved in a format called . XML (Extensible Markup Language).

You can always re-upload this anytime to blogger if something really big and irreversible thing happened and you will need to delete your blog and re-add another one. Not necessary irreversible but perhaps you don't understand HTML good enough to resolve it. Or maybe you will want to migrate it to WordPress. WordPress supports blogger's .XML migration. All your comments, post and feed should appear exactly as it is. (As for the feed it only applies to WordPress only)

This is the easiest method of doing so. However, if cannot anticipate when your blog will go corrupt or you forgot to backup and some big disaster happens, you can always count on third party services to help you deal with that! This is normally done for precaution purposes.

Blog Backup Online:

What Blog Backup online does is that it backups your blog daily and save them to a storage space, I don't the space (or memory) limitation should be a problem as they offer enough memory to store a blog, even a full time blogger can count on their free service.
